With more than a decade of experience in education, online learning, homeschool advising, and NCAA advising, Lauren has built a reputation for providing individualized support that empowers students to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
Lauren holds a Ph.D. in Education Administration and Personalized Learning, as well as a Master's degree in Curriculum Production and Individualized Learning from the University of Maryland. Her expertise in personalized education has allowed her to develop innovative learning solutions tailored to the unique needs of each student.
With more than 10 years of homeschool advising experience, Lauren has helped families confidently navigate homeschooling from preschool through high school. She provides comprehensive guidance on curriculum selection, personalized learning plans, graduation requirements, and compliance with state homeschool laws and regulations, ensuring students remain on track academically while meeting all legal requirements. Her individualized approach allows families to create flexible educational experiences that best fit each student's learning style, goals, and future aspirations.
Lauren also brings more than 10 years of NCAA advising experience, successfully guiding countless student-athletes through the recruiting and eligibility process. She helps families navigate NCAA academic requirements, recruiting timelines, communication with college coaches, transfer regulations, and eligibility standards while identifying opportunities that align with each student's academic, athletic, and personal goals.
In addition to her advising work, Lauren has more than 10 years of experience in online education and over 7 years of experience designing and developing online curriculum. She has worked extensively with accredited online learning programs, helping students access flexible, high-quality educational opportunities while maintaining academic excellence and preparing for college success.
As a former soccer player herself, Lauren understands firsthand the dedication, discipline, and balance required to excel both academically and athletically. Her personal experiences in sports, combined with her professional expertise, allow her to connect with student-athletes and their families on a deeper level throughout the college recruitment journey.
Outside of her professional work, Lauren is a proud mother of three wonderful children and a dedicated soccer wife, spending much of her time supporting her family's activities on and off the field. Her passion for education, athletics, and family is at the heart of EmpowerED Advising's mission to help students reach their fullest potential.
